About the Opportunity

We’re looking for enthusiastic and service-focused Golf Shop Assistants to support the day-to-day operation of our Torquay RACV Golf Shop.

In this role, you’ll be the friendly face of our leisure team—helping members, guests and visitors enjoy their golfing experience while maintaining our high standards of presentation, service delivery and operational excellence.

Whether it’s assisting with tee times, managing retail sales, supporting golf events, or providing expert knowledge on equipment, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable experiences and encouraging repeat visitation.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, guests and visitors.
  • Administer golf course access, process payments, and manage point-of-sale transactions.
  • Maintain Golf Shop presentation, product displays and stock knowledge.
  • Support golf events, golf days and coordinate with other resort teams.
  • Manage the hire, loan and return of equipment, ensuring accuracy and care.
  • Stay up to date with golf rules, handicapping, trends and RACV service standards.
  • Assist across leisure areas, including providing food and beverage service when required.
  • Ensure safe work practices and contribute to a positive team culture.

 

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Previous experience in a golf course environment.
  • Strong customer service, communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Understanding of golf rules, course etiquette and equipment.
  • Ability to handle cash and perform accurate POS transactions.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • RSA (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable

  • Experience with POS, EFTPOS or MICLUB systems.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, marketing or F&B techniques.
  • Certificates in Hospitality, Tourism, Sport or similar.
  • First Aid or OH&S certification.
