About the Opportunity

 

We are seeking a casual Security Officer, to join our busy security department, who play a key role in the success of our resort operations. In the fast-paced environment of a hotel, our team of Security Officers are responsible for maintaining and promoting a safe and secure environment for all guests, visitors and employees of the resort.

Our security team monitor Royal Pines Resort, 24 hours per day, 7 days week, and work a rotating roster 6am-2pm, 2-10pm & 10pm-6am. Full availability and flexibility is required, including evenings, overnights, weekends & public holidays, to cater for large groups in conferences & events. Reporting to the Safety & Security Manager, your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Building & maintaining positive working relationships with internal & external stakeholders, including staff, guests & contractors
  • Crowd control throughout the resort & property including group arrivals/departures, large conferences and events, bars & restaurants
  • Traffic & parking control
  • Patrolling the property and surveillance duties
  • Monitoring various systems incl. security, alarms, CCTV, and access point control
  • Check alarm systems and fire equipment 
  • Maintain operation logs, accurate record keeping responding to incidents, investigation & report writing
  • Safeguarding company assets & managing security risks
  • Respond to emergency situations & liaise with emergency services
  • Maintaining the RACV values and culture 

 

 

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Valid QLD Security Licence (incl. Crowd Controller & Monitoring)
  • Valid QLD Driver's Licence
  • Valid First Aid Certificate + CPR
  • Valid QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
  • Previous hotel security experience performing the above duties in a 4-5 star hotel/resort or similar work environment
  • Experienced in managing multiple systems including fire safety, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control
  • Competent computer skills using MS Office & Outlook to fill in reports, daily logs, email communication
  • Experience responding to fire emergency & safety situations, drills and use of equipment
  • Experience responding to first aid & emergency situations & use of equipment
  • Provide guests with a warm welcome and a consistent high standard of 5 star service
  • Maintain a friendly, professional and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication, sound decision making and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or responsible to work autonomously
  • Build & maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders 
  • Attention to detail, highly organised & excellent time management skills
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Perform duties in accordance with statutory regulations
