About the Opportunity

 

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Manager who thrives in a hotel environment and loves keeping a resort running at its best? As the Maintenance Manager, you will lead and inspire a high‑performing maintenance team while remaining hands‑on in day‑to‑day operations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the resort’s buildings, plant and equipment operate at the highest standard, safely, compliantly and efficiently. Reporting to the Resort Manager, and as a key member of the leadership team, you will drive continuous improvement, innovation and cost‑effective solutions that support an exceptional guest and team experience.

In our fast‑paced resort environment, you will be responsible for the seamless operation, maintenance and enhancement of all resort infrastructure, including overseeing repairs, modifications and installations across mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire systems, kitchen equipment, audio‑visual, laundry operations, lighting and broader plant and equipment. A key focus of the role is the proactive management of contractors, ensuring all external works are effectively planned, safely executed, fully compliant and delivered to the highest standards, aligned with the resort’s luxury presentation and operational excellence.

 

You will typically work Monday – Friday, however flexibility will be required to work evenings and weekends, to support and manage key projects, major works and our weekend Manager on Duty Program. Your key responsibilities for the role include:

 

  • Lead, coordinate and develop a high‑performing maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient day‑to‑day operations, planned maintenance and major works
  • Oversee and manage on‑site contractors and service partners, ensuring safe work practices, compliance and exceptional quality standards
  • Manage capital expenditure projects end‑to‑end, from planning and approval through to delivery and review
  • Undertake hands‑on repairs and maintenance in line with qualifications and experience as required
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs that minimise guest disruption and maximise asset reliability
  • Monitor and manage the Building Management System - Delta, rectifying alarms and optimising the performance of building systems
  • Provide clear, accurate reporting on operational issues, project progress and resolutions to key stakeholders
  • Build strong working relationships with internal leaders, authorities, contractors and strategic partners
  • Contribute to annual CapEx, energy efficiency initiatives and the preparation, management and monitoring of operating and capital budgets
  • Champion workplace health, safety and environmental standards, participating in OHS committees, Body Corporate engagements and the Manager on Duty program as required

 

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • Previous experience as a Building Maintenance Manager within a hotel/resort or similar environment
  • Trade qualified technician with a minimum of two years’ experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, or Air‑Conditioning & Refrigeration
  • Proven leadership experience, supporting, mentoring and performance managing a team of maintenance technicians
  • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Proven experience coordinating and managing contractors, including permits, JSA/SWMS and high‑risk work compliance
  • Competent computer skills in MS office applications & BMS, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong reporting capability
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver consistently high‑quality workmanship with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and safe work practices
  • Guest‑focused approach with the ability to interact professionally and confidently in a premium resort hospitality environment
  • Highly organised, results‑driven and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced resort environment and maintain professional presentation
