About the Opportunity
We are seeking a casual Logistics Attendant to join our busy conference and events team. You will perform a wide range of manual duties, setting up & pulling down equipment for conferences and events (C&E), working in a variety of spaces both indoors and outdoors. This is an active fast paced role in a large resort environment, frequently moving through the resort, including back of house and front of house and working alongside other department teams of staff, contractors and suppliers.

In this role, you will be primarily located back of house in our C&E stores area, working in a team environment. Your key responsibilities include:
- Performing manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items ie. furniture, large tables, chairs & event equipment
- Setting up & break down of conferences and events, including furniture, buffet, bar, shelving and other items
- Movement, lifting, placement and storage of large & small furniture, equipment & stock items (eg. boxes of goods, beverages, food etc) throughout the resort outlets & conference & event spaces
- Unloading & loading C&E equipment and deliveries in the loading dock area
- Communicating and working well in a diverse team with others and can follow direction
- Maintaining a safe, clean and hygienic work space
- Flexibility to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the resort
- Adhere to workplace health & safety, policies & procedures
You will require effective communication skills, working alongside AV Partners & equipment hire suppliers, contractors, clients and guests, always delivering a professional five star service with a friendly smile and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
This role is casual, and may suit someone who has previous food & beverage, conference & events experience, and the flexibility to work across a seven day rotating roster, including weekdays, evenings, weekends & public holidays. Shift times will vary between 5am - midnight/2am.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Ability to perform physical duties, including heavy lifting duties up to 20kgs and repetitive manual tasks safely
- Previous food & beverage, conference & events experience in a 4/5 star hotel/resort environment, desirable
- Current QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate, essential
- Drivers Licence & Forklift Licence, desirable
- Effective interpersonal & verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and with a positive 'can do' attitude, work well in a team environment & follow direction
- Demonstrate attention to detail, use initiative and work autonomously in a responsible manner
- Ability to interact with guests, suppliers and partners in a professional and friendly manner to deliver a high standard of service
- Excellent personal presentation
