About the Opportunity

 

Are you wanting to elevate your career in luxury wellness? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Spa Therapist to join our dedicated and caring One Spa team. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a senior therapist who thrives in a premium service environment and is motivated to elevate standards, mentor others and creates exceptional guest experiences.

Reporting to the Spa Manager, the Head Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering premium spa treatments while playing a pivotal role in training, developing and supporting the spa therapy team. You will be accountable for maintaining expert knowledge of all spa products and services, ensuring day‑to‑day spa operations run efficiently, and consistently delivering five‑star service aligned with RACV standards. Your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Oversee day‑to‑day spa operations, including adhering to SOPs, hygiene and presentation standards, product par levels and treatment room readiness
  • Induct, train and mentor Spa Therapists, developing technical excellence, retail capability and confidence through ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Deliver a full range of professional day spa treatments, including facials, skin & body treatments, water therapy, remedial, relaxation & pregnancy massage, manicures and pedicures, consistently meeting RACV service, presentation and timing standards
  • Act as a senior point of escalation, resolving service issues with discretion, professionalism and a solutions‑focused approach
  • Create exceptional, personalised experiences by anticipating member and guest needs, building strong rapport and encouraging repeat business
  • Achieve individual performance targets while actively contributing to team KPIs, attendance growth and revenue generation
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team culture to support operational efficiency
  • Champion health, safety and wellbeing by promoting safe work practices

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • Availability and flexibility to work a 7 day rotating roster 8.30am-5.30pm, including work weekends and public holidays
  • Prior experience as a senior or head spa therapist in a premium wellness day spa or 4-5 hotel/resort, or similar environment
  • Diploma in Beauty Therapy or higher qualification essential
  • Hold or ability to obtain a valid QLD Working with Children Check Blue Card, essential
  • Confident leader with proven experience training and developing teams and passionate about luxury wellness industry
  • Highly professional with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercially minded with a strong focus on guest satisfaction, repeat business and revenue growth
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and spa/wellness management system
  • Excellent personal presentation
