About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a customer-focused Front Office Receptionist & Reservations team member, to join our rooms division, welcoming guests with a warm and friendly smile and to deliver exceptional customer service. In this service driven role, you'll work in both reception and reservations assisting guests, groups and conference clients with their reservations needs from beginning to end.
Full availability and flexibility is required to work a rotating roster, Sunday-Saturday, between 7am-11pm, inclusive of evenings, weekends & public holidays.

Reporting to the Duty Manager, your key responsibilities for the role include:

Facilitate guest check ins & check outs and provide information to guests about accommodation, rates and amenities

Process reservations information with accuracy, monitor room blockings, report pick up, VIP & upgrade accommodation
- Complete pre-arrival checks, follow up late arrivals or cancellations, generate revenue through upselling, repeat business and promoting inhouse services

Maintain records, emails, respond to phone enquiries and provide solutions to special requests

Maximize accommodation bookings by upselling/upgrading, cross sell & upsell products & services

Assist with lobby shop sales, process payments, maintain records and accurately collect, receipt, and record all monies
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure guests needs are met
What you'll need to be successful

Full availability and flexible to work on a rotating roster in reception & reservations between 7am-11pm including evenings, weekends & public holidays

Experience in front office reception & reservations in 4-5 star hotel/resort environment

Opera PMS experience, preferred

A professional face-to-face and telephone manner, active listening, strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills

Excellent administration & MS Office application skills

Attention to detail, ability to problem solve, be organised and possess efficient time management skills

Be friendly, confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic with a positive attitude

Work well in a team environment and with diverse groups of people

Be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check Blue Card
