An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food & Beverage Duty Manager to join our Outlets team. You will be an integral part of our Food & Beverage leadership team to ensure our nine dining outlets, including a la carte restaurants, bars, poolside, executive lounge and IRD operate effectively & efficiently. You'll be leading a team of dedicated food and beverage professionals – supervisors, team leaders & operations staff who deliver great customer service & an exceptional experience to guests.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Outlets Manager, we’re looking for a leader who is flexible and adaptable with a ‘can-do’ attitude. In a large team and fast-paced service driven resort environment, you’ll help to set best practice standards and build effective relationships with other resort departments. Your key responsibilities for the role include: 

 

  • Lead by example setting clear objectives and build a safe, motivating team
  • Develop your team to direct, train, and induct F&B Attendants, and lead recruitment and performance development
  • Connect the operation linking management, kitchens, events sales, bar, and floor staff to resolve issues quickly
  • Run front-of-house across multiple outlets, within budget and with smart, cost-effective rostering
  • Manage stock and cash, stocktakes, wastage, requisitions, daily cash-ups, and tip allocation
  • Lead improvement maintaining SOPs and report on business performance
  • Champion a guest-first culture with timely, courteous, anticipatory service
  • Handle complaints and tough situations confidently, and act on guest feedback
  • Uphold RACV standards in presentation, hygiene, and Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Lead health & safety initiatives, identifying and control hazards, lead investigations, and support return-to-work
  • Keep your team safe ensuring they are trained, competent, and consulted on wellbeing

 

What you’ll need to be successful 

 

  • Previous food & beverage experience in a similar team leadership role within a 4–5-star hotel/resort environment, or similar environment
  • Flexibility & full availability to work a weekly rotating roster, including evenings, weekends & public holidays
  • Recognised qualification in hospitality or food & beverage, desirable 
  • RSA Certificate
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Qld WWCC Blue Card
  • Passion for hospitality and F&B service excellence and a knowledge of current industry trends 
  • In depth knowledge of various food and beverage dining service styles including a la carte, wines & beverages 
  • Experience in staff management practices including recruitment, rewarding, training, appraising, counselling and development 
  • Understanding of labour and beverage cost control 
  • Experience in PMS, Micros POS & MS Office applications 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organisational and time management skills 
  • Capability in decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills 
  • Excellent grooming and personal presentation
