About the Opportunity
Are you ready to make your mark at one of Queensland’s most iconic resorts? In this exciting role as the Director of Sales & Marketing, you’ll play a pivotal role to lead the growth strategy for our sales & events function in leisure and C&E business, steering conference & events performance, and to champion exceptional guest experiences. In this role, you’ll set direction, enable high performance, and cultivate a culture of collaboration and innovation across a talented team.

As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will join our executive leadership team, providing visibility and authentic leadership to the sales and events function, optimising resources and strengthening stakeholder relationships with industry and strategic partners. Reporting to the Resort General Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic leadership and ensure commercial success by aligning business operations with RACV’s overall strategy, optimising resources to achieve operational targets
- Steer growth and innovation in sales & events through the development of competitive offerings, creative selling strategies, and initiatives that enhance performance and market position
- Identify marketing opportunities and lead innovative initiatives across all channels to strengthen the RACV brand
- Lead, coach & mentor a high performing sales & events team, incl Associate Director of Sales, C&E Manager, Sales Managers, C&E & Marketing Coordinators
- Set team targets and objectives, and managing performance to build capability and engagement
- Manage and report on the sales & events budgets, forecast, revenue and business financial performance
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing towards business initiatives and achieving objectives
- Maximise business opportunities networking with key clients, hosting client site inspections, PCO famils and attending industry events
What you’ll need to be successful
- Previous experience in a senior sales & marketing leadership role in a 5 star hotel/resort or similar environment
- Tertiary qualifications in business management, desirable
- Leadership experience managing people and performance in a large team
- Business acumen, financial management and commercial management experience
- Sales principles, techniques and negotiation skills
- Manage internal/external stakeholder relationships to collaborate and communicate effectively
- Proficient in MS Office applications & experience in PMS Opera, advantageous
- Occasional interstate travel may be required
- Professional personal presentation
