About this Opportunity

 

Are you passionate about golf? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Mechanic to join our golf course maintenance team. You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining the golf course machinery and equipment that is used on the 27 hole championship golf course greens and fairways, driving range, putting & chipping greens and multi-purpose sports field. Our team take great pride in maintaining the property to the highest standard, in excellent playing condition all year round and offering exceptional experiences for our members and guests.

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, you will work in a team of greenkeepers & grounds maintenance staff, and your key responsibilities for the role will include:

 

  • Maintaining and repairing golf course machinery and turf equipment including golf course mowers - greens, fairway, rough, trim & surrounds, golf utility vehicle, aerator, turf sprayer, bunker rake, tractor & golf carts
  • Fault finding, running diagnostics, and repairing electrical & hydraulic systems in machinery
  • Welding
  • Performing general golf course maintenance jobs
  • Maintain accurate machinery service and maintenance records
  • Communicate and work well in a team environment, other resort departments and contractors
  • Maintain a clean workshop and apply WHS standards & practices

 

Our golf course maintenance team work Monday-Thursday 5.30am-2pm, Friday 5.30am-11.30am, plus one rotating weekend per month Saturday & Sunday 5-9am. Availability to work these hours are essential to the role. 

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • Certificate 3 in Mechanics or related trade qualification, essential
  • Industry experience and knowledge in maintaining and repairing, diesel and petrol powered motors
  • Experience with cylindrical mowers and a knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, desirable but not essential
  • Physical capability to perform manual work
  • A team player who can work effectively with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work efficiently
  • Attention to detail, can use initiative and has the ability to problem solve
  • An interest in the golf industry, an advantage
  • Excellent personal presentation
