About the Opportunity
Are you passionate about creating delicious dishes made from high quality produce and are eager to build your culinary career? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis Chef to support our talented team of chefs in the main production kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

As a Commis Chef you will be responsible for assisting with the effective daily kitchen operation, whilst developing your cookery skills and creativity. Your key responsibilities for the role include:

Perform knife skills, mis en place, cooking techniques & duties

Produce a consistent high quality product and standard

Maintain equipment, utensils and a clean hygienic kitchen

Rotate stock and minimise wastage
-
Follow directions from senior chefs and work as a team player

Follow WHS, policies and procedures
What you’ll need to be successful

Full availability and flexibility to work a 7 day rotating roster including evenings, weekends & public holidays

Completed a Certificate 3 in Cookery qualification, essential

Previous cooking experience in a 4-5 star hotel/resort or a la carte restaurant environment

Developed knife skills & cookery techniques

Genuine passion for food and cooking, positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn

Thrive in a large, busy & fast paced professional kitchen environment, with efficiency, organisation and attention to detail
-
Strong communication skills, can follow direction and work well in a team environment
-
Excellent personal presentation
