About the Opportunity

Join our team as a Conference & Events Food & Beverage Supervisor, where we take pride in delivering exceptional experiences for our guests. With state-of-the-art facilities our team thrives on creativity, precision and bringing unforgettable moments to life. 

 

You will lead a team of conference and events professionals, who perform a wide range of logistics duties, setting up & pulling down C&E equipment. Working in indoor and outdoor spaces, this is an active fast paced role in a large resort environment, working alongside other departments, contractors and suppliers.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, we’re looking for someone who is adaptable with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will help to set best practice standards and will be responsible for directing and assisting the conference & events logistics team. Your key responsibilities for the role include:  

  

  • Work FOH and BOH providing effective ‘hands on’ leadership to the C&E team 

  • Direct and assist the team to carry out daily duties as required, including manual handling tasks, movement, lifting, placement and storage of large & small furniture, equipment & stock throughout the resort, conference & event spaces and loading dock area 

  • Provide a high standard, timely and courteous service, anticipating client needs 

  • Communicate with other departments, suppliers, contractors and clients to proactively prevent issues arising and effectively resolve issues as they occur 

  • Demonstrate a high-level of C&E product and operations knowledge 

  • Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic workplace environment 

 

Full availability and flexibility to work a rotating roster is required including evenings, weekends & public holidays. Shift times will vary between 5am - midnight/2am, depending on the business needs.

 

What you’ll need to be successful 

 

  • Previous experience in a C&E F&B Supervisor role, preferably within a conference and events and/or 4/5-star hotel/resort environment 

  • Knowledge of C&E operations, logistics, products and F&B service procedures  

  • Understanding of staff management practices including training methods on the job, development, reward, appraisal and counselling 

  • Understanding of rostering and labour cost control 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organisational and time management skills  

  • Decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills  

  • RSA Certificate, essential 

  • Drivers Licence & Forklift Licence, desirable 

  • Passion for the hospitality industry, C&E and service excellence 

  • Ability to perform physical duties, including heavy lifting repetitive manual tasks safely 

  • Excellent grooming and personal presentation
