About the Opportunity 

We are on the search for a passionate and innovative Sous Chef who is ready to produce an unforgettable experience for our diners, all while maintaining their high standards and furthering their skills in a tight supportive & collaborative team. 

 

A day in the life 

From the first meal of the day to the last after dinner treat the Bistro is a hive of activity.

As the Sous Chef you will help oversee the kitchen brigade and manage the team in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine. Your team first philosophy matched with a can-do attitude alongside the standards that you display will ensure the kitchen is led by example.

The encouragement of the staff to assist in creating menus, showcasing their flair and heritage, will guarantee the continual growth of the team.

The Bistro kitchen services multiple outlets, including the Carbine Bar and Bourke Street Green as well as Room Service for our Hotel Guests so you will need to ensure that your organisational abilities and communication skills have been perfected through years of experience.

 

 What you’ll need to be Successful

  • Experience working in a fast-paced 4-5* resort or restaurant environment.
  • Sound culinary knowledge 
  • A creative and innovative mindset.
  • A desire to further develop your skills.
  • The flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including weekends and peak holiday periods.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
