About the Opportunity 

We are on the search for a passionate and innovative Senior Sous Chef who is ready to produce an unforgettable experience for our guests, all while maintaining their high standards and furthering their skills in a tight supportive & collaborative team. 

 

In Conference and Events no two days are the same. From bespoke 20 pax events using the finest of ingredients to hosting large corporate events, the team pride themselves on the consistency that they produce every day.

 

As the Senior Sous Chef, you will help oversee the kitchen brigade and manage the team in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine. Your team first philosophy matched with a can-do attitude alongside the standards that you display will ensure the kitchen is led by example.

 

The encouragement of the staff to assist in creating menus, showcasing their flair and abilities, will guarantee the continual growth of the team.

 

The Conference and Events kitchen services multiple outlets so you will need to ensure that your organisational abilities and communication skills have been perfected through years of experience.

 

What you’ll need to be Successful

  • Experience working in a 4-5* resort/hotel or Conference and Events environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of all food items and base cooking techniques including knowledge of sauces, cold larder, vegetables and butchery.
  • Strong knowledge of stock rotation, cleaning and hygiene procedures.
  • Knowledge of planning, financial processes such as cost control.
  • Strong understanding of staff management practices including rewarding, training,
  • appraising, and counselling and staff development.
  • Training techniques, in particular “on the job” methods.
  • The flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including weekends and peak holiday periods.
