About the Role
As a Commis Chef, you'll be a vital part of our kitchen team, helping to deliver high-quality dishes and an excellent dining experience for our members and guests. You'll work alongside experienced chefs, refining your skills in various sections of the kitchen, from butchery and baking to maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. You'll be responsible for:
- Preparing and delivering a consistent, high-quality product, with a strong focus on minimal waste and proper stock rotation.
- Supporting the kitchen's daily operations, including mise en place, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
- Learning and growing your skills across all kitchen sections and assisting in the training of new staff.
- Contributing to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and management
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a qualified chef with a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a completed apprenticeship. You should have a strong understanding of food items, cooking techniques, and kitchen hygiene.
Essential skills and qualifications:
- Qualified Chef (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or completed apprenticeship)
- Food Handlers Certificate
- OH&S Certificate
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to maintain consistent product quality and accept responsibility.
