About the Opportunity 

 

The Storeperson is responsible and accountable for the efficient and timely processing and delivery of orders, including food and beverage products and general goods for use throughout the property. The role requires an ability to work with a range of staff on initiatives to ensure that departmental and divisional objectives are achieved.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role to ensure that all stock control records will be accurate and delivered within agreed timeframes. You will have a safety-first mindset and will always follow the appropriate HACCP, OH&S and manual handling practices. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Process the ordering, receipt and issuing of stock for all departments; 
  • Deliver goods to various departments and assist with putting stock away; 
  • Ensure stock is rotated on a regular basis in all storage locations; 
  • Assist with the stocktake process and maintaining an awareness of stock levels; 
  • Maintain storage areas in a clean and organised state at all times; and 
  • Comply with company policies and procedures in relation to workplace health and safety, including security 

 

This is a casual position -  Shifts would be from 7am – 3pm across a Monday to Friday roster. The number of shifts per week will fluctuate in line with operational requirements. 

 

What you’ll need to be successful 

 

  • Hospitality experience in hotel or resort environment (highly regarded) 
  • Knowledge of stocktaking procedures, Queensland Food Legislation and HACCP 
  • An excellent understanding of the correct and safe procedures when ordering, delivering, recording, handling and storing stock 
  • Basic understanding of kitchen and bar operations 
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Inventory Management Systems 
  • The ability to comfortably lift 20kgs and perform repetitive manual tasks safely 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Full working rights in Australia 
  • Valid Australian drivers licence (essential)
