About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager, to join our vibrant and growing conference and events team. In this role, you will be responsible for actively selling and securing conference and event business for RACV Hobart Hotel

As a seasoned MICE professional, you will steer conference & events and corporate sales for RACV Hobart Hotel, leading a small team of C&E Coordinators while delivering truly memorable client experiences. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive new business growth, manage key accounts, and maximise profitability across both C&E and accommodation. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you’ll take ownership of building relationships, converting opportunities, and ensuring seamless event delivery from enquiry to execution. Your key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Qualify leads and convert
  • Generate sales throughout the hotel in Conference & Events and Accommodation
  • Conducting detailed property inspections
  • Develop relationships & collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships to acquire and manage new and existing business
  • Achieve revenue targets and maintaining reporting requirements
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records using PMS Opera
  • Represent RACV at industry and corporate networking events
  • Maintain the RACV values and culture

 

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Previous Sales Manager experience in a 4-5 star hotel/resort or a similar environment
  • Proficient in MS Office applications & experience in PMS Opera, advantageous
  • Tertiary qualifications in hospitality and tourism desirable, but not essential
  • Proven sales record, achieve sales targets and client relationship management
  • Effective communication skills, collaborate well with internal/external stakeholders, diverse teams of people and work cohesively in a team environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills, work well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess creativity, flair and innovative ideas to meet client requests
  • Experience responding to client feedback, managing and resolving issues
  • Excellent personal presentation
