About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Officer is responsible for maintaining RACV buildings, plant and equipment to a consistently high standard. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving and is committed to delivering high-quality service in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out general, preventative and periodic maintenance across buildings, plant and equipment to ensure facilities are safe, operational and well presented
- Proactively identifying maintenance issues and scheduling works to minimise disruption to property operations
- Completing maintenance tasks within agreed timeframes and in line with RACV standards and regulatory requirements
- Liaising closely with departments such as Housekeeping and Reception to support day-to-day operational needs
- Supervising contractors and monitoring performance to ensure quality service delivery
- Assisting with specialised service tasks and supporting other areas of the property as required
- Maintaining high standards of workplace presentation, hygiene and compliance
- Actively promoting safe work practices and participating in health, safety and wellbeing initiatives
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment and continuous improvement activities
- Delivering consistently high-quality service to RACV members, guests and visitors
- Flexibility is essential, as this role operates within a seven-day environment and may include weekend work, on-call duties and occasional travel to other RACV properties.
About You
You have previous building or facilities maintenance experience and a practical, hands-on skillset across areas such as carpentry, painting and basic electrical or plumbing. You’re a clear communicator, able to manage multiple tasks, work independently and build strong working relationships with colleagues, contractors and guests. You demonstrate a strong customer service ethic, attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Trade qualifications, restricted electrical licences, experience in hotel or resort environments, and familiarity with building management systems are highly desirable but not essential.

- Current Australian driver’s licence (essential)
- Police check required for successful appointment
