About the Opportunity

 

The Patrol Area Manager - Metropolitan Emergency Roadside Assistance (MERA) position is responsible for the leadership and efficient and effective delivery of Emergency Roadside Assistance within a designated area of metropolitan Melbourne. The position will include leading and managing remote workforce teams which will include direct employees and service providers.  

The Patrol Area Manager - MERA is also responsible for providing support to the department Manager in the areas of business analysis and reporting, process improvement and project implementation, as well as the achievement of the department budgets and objectives.  

As Emergency Roadside Assistance is a 24/7 operation, it is an expectation that the Patrol Area Manager – MERA will be available for issue escalation and resolution outside of hours on a business needs basis.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our Team delivers exceptional service. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

 

  • Manage and lead Emergency Roadside Assistance operations to ensure RACV standards for expertise and the delivery of exceptional services are met. 
  • Ensure that the local area and department budgets are achieved in line with business planning allocation 
  • Ensure department initiatives and change management projects are implemented within time and budget  
  • Recruit, train, motivate, develop and lead a highly engaged and motivated team within your designated area 
  • Ensure business area's employees are highly motivated, productive and engaged with the organisation and department vision, values and objectives 
  • Recognise potential within individuals and foster a continuous improvement environment to contribute to the strategic objectives of the department 
  • Champion and lead organisational cultural development in a fast paced and changing environment 

 

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • 3+ years leadership experience  
  • Exceptional relationship development and performance management skills.
  • Analytical and detail orientated.  
  • Persuasive professional written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate at all levels.  
  • Adaptive and resourceful in problem solving. 
  • Exceptional change management.  
  • Customer relationship management. 
  • Internal and external business environment appreciation and management.  
  • Detailed awareness and management of OHS compliance systems and processes to ensure internal and external compliance and continual improvement of OHS results. 
  • Quality systems and process management. 
  • Excellent time management skills. 
  • Automotive knowledge desirable
