About the Opportunity

 

As the Senior Manager of Search, you'll shape the future of how RACV shows up in search, and everywhere it matters and manage the performance media function including paid Social Media,.


In this pivotal role, you’ll bring your extensive leadership experience and lead the charge in unifying our paid and organic search efforts into a single, powerful strategy. You’ll own the end-to-end vision for maximizing our total search presence, driving traffic, boosting conversions, and making sure we're consistently found by the people who need us most.

 

But this isn’t just about traditional SEO and SEM. You’ll be at the forefront of the next evolution in search, spearheading RACV’s strategy for generative AI and conversational platforms. From Google and Bing to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and beyond, you’ll ensure our brand and content are not only visible, but also trusted and authoritative in an increasingly AI-driven search landscape. Leading the SEO and Digital Performance Media team, you will oversee campaign recommendation and placements across SEM & Social channels.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our Marketing team delivers exceptional service. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

 

  • Lead planning, strategy and delivery, PPC campaigns on Google Ads, Bing Ads, and vertical platforms.
  • Identify and drive optimisation and test and learn capability with to deliver ROI and efficiency working with Marketing Managers and product stakeholders
  • Deliver a forward plan and strategy that drives technical, on-page, off-page, and content SEO initiatives to increase organic visibility and qualified traffic.
  • Conduct keyword research, SEO audits, competitive analysis, and link-building programs with a focus on driving key business and marketing objectives across the RACV suite of products.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across site architecture, mobile performance, structured data, and site speed.
  • Develop and own an integrated search growth strategy that aligns SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to drive overall traffic growth, reduce acquisition costs, and enhance ROI.
  • Deliver a holistic approach and plan for paid and organic efforts to coordinate keyword targeting, content strategy, landing pages, and A/B testing across both channels.
  • Establish unified reporting frameworks and shared KPIs (e.g., total search share, blended CPC/CPA, total conversions) that measure holistic search performance.
  • Identify cross-channel synergies using data driven insights to inform SEO opportunities and paid strategies, with a view to improving efficiency and maximise coverage across the search funnel.
  • Lead the development and approach for AI-generated search experiences (e.g., Google SGE, ChatGPT search, etc) by ensuring our content is structured and authoritative to be referenced or surfaced by LLMs.
  • Work cross-functionally with content, product marketing, design, and development teams to align execution of SEM and SEO strategies.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team and/or agency partners across SEM and SEO disciplines.
  • Communicate strategy, performance, insights, and opportunities clearly to executive stakeholders and cross-functional collaborators.

 

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, with proven leadership in both SEO and SEM roles.
  • Extensive people leadership experience to bring the team together and drive exceptional performance.
  • Deep knowledge SEO (technical and content), PPC strategy, and performance analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate paid and organic strategies to drive total search performance.
  • Experience with AI-enhanced and conversational search environments, including content optimization for generative search tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field desirable.
