As Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in statutory reporting, technical accounting, regulatory compliance and fixed asset accounting, while also supporting RACV’s sustainability and climate-related financial reporting.  Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll help deliver accurate, compliant and insightful financial outcomes that support sound decision-making and long-term success.

 

 

About the Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, you will support RACV’s external financial reporting, statutory compliance and technical accounting activities. This role is responsible for the preparation and review of statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables, providing accounting advice and contributing to the continuous enhancement of financial reporting processes and controls. You will also play a critical role in supporting climate-related and sustainability disclosures, helping RACV respond to evolving reporting and regulatory requirements.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working with complex reporting requirements, collaborating with senior stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.

 

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For

 

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, Group financial reporting deliverables and regulatory submissions in accordance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidations, balance sheet reviews and review of general ledger reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance.
  • Managing fixed asset accounting activities, including capital expenditure analysis, impairment assessments and valuation activities.
  • Providing technical accounting advice to stakeholders and contributing to the development of accounting policies, procedures and financial controls.
  • Supporting sustainability and climate-related disclosures, including compliance with emerging standards such as AASB S2.
  • Preparing regulatory reporting and compliance reporting, including insurance, covenant and statistical reporting obligations.
  • Contributing to the ERP Oracle project while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, controls, data integrity and data quality.

 

 

What You'll Bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • 5+ years’ post-graduate accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing statutory accounts and financial statements.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with general ledger accounting, reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Exposure to sustainability or climate-related reporting will be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with the month end close process.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion desirable.
  • Familiarity with emerging sustainability standards such as AASB S2 or IFRS S2 is advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical capability and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
