About the Opportunity
As Senior Financial Accountant, reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and preparation of RACV Finance Limited statutory and external reporting requirements, including accounting advice within area of responsibility. In addition, the role will play a key role in the Group statutory and financial reporting process by assisting in the preparation of the Group statutory accounts and month end processes.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our Financial Controls team delivers exceptional service. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts in compliance with statutory and legislative requirements
- Drafting supporting papers for the Audit Committee
- Preparation and lodgment of regulatory reports for RACV Finance, including APRA reporting, in line with the relevant requirements/legal agreements and covenants
- Preparation of other compliance reports and returns such as funding facility reporting
- Preparation of the monthly Group cash flow statement and balance sheet for inclusion in the Group Board report
- Preparation of the annual balance sheet and cash flow budget
- Solid understanding and application of lease accounting standards (AASB 16)
- Annual FBT return reconciliation.
- Completion and lodgement of statistical reporting e.g. ABS reports
- Development/maintenance of the Group Chart of Accounts and Accounts dictionary
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting, accounting and general ledger processes
- Assisting with the development and review of company policies and procedures
Who we’re looking for and what you’ll bring
- Bachelor of Business - major in accounting or similar
- CPA/CA qualified
- Detailed knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and accounting standards, including IFRS
- Experience working with financial instruments
- Knowledge of general tax legislation and accounting systems
- Demonstrated experience in preparing statutory accounts
- Previous experience in the role of Financial Accountant
- Approx. 5 years post graduation experience
- Highly developed written and verbal skills including formal presentations
- Strong analytical skills and problem solver
- Financial modelling and a focus on continuous improvement
