About the Opportunity

 

As the Production Editor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of the RACV Club’s members’ magazine,as well as assisting with the delivery of RACV’s digital News and Lifestyle content offering where required.

 

You will have meaningful engagement with stakeholders across the RACV’s City and Healesville Clubs, and the marketing team, to source information and stories and ensure that relevant, timely and accurate information is included in the magazine to add value to Club membership, and drive activation, member retention and benefit utilisation.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our Editorial and Production team deliver exceptional service. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

 

  • Plan, edit, write and proofread RACV Club Magazine Highlights, ensuring the highest editorial standards are maintained in terms of accuracy, relevance and design.
  • Develop workflow and schedule to meet deadlines
  • Research and write feature stories for Highlights magazine.
  • Commission articles for Highlights magazine from external contributors.
  • Assist the Visual Editor to deliver monthly photography requirements for Highlights magazine
  • Assist the Senior Graphic Designer to layout Highlights magazine each month
  • Maintain the Highlights magazine content calendar.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Content Channels to refine and improve the content strategy of Highlights magazine.
  • Assist the Content Editor - Commercial with writing, sub-editing, proof-reading and production of RACV News and Lifestyle content
  • Offer advice and insights on process and systems improvement for Highlights magazine and RACV Club member content.
  • Coordinate with RACV Club marketing, digital and social media teams to ensure Highlights print content supports and complements the overall Club content strategy.
  • Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards and project specifications.
  • Ensure to complete the assigned project(s) within allotted timelines and budget.

 

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • Minimum five years journalism and editing/production experience
  • Degree qualification in communications, journalism and/or editing
  • Experience in sub-editing and proof-reading.
  • InDesign, Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite programs proficiency,
  • Magazine publishing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Razor-sharp attention to detail.
  • Highly organised and deadline focused.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills.
  • Drive to maintain the highest editorial standards and continuously improve the content and design of the magazine.
