About the Role

 

Are you a passionate and experienced health, safety and wellbeing professional ready to make a meaningful impact? We’re looking for a dynamic HSW Business Partner to join our team and intentionally lead and coordinate HSW initiatives across our diverse Corporate, Insurance and Roadside business portfolio.

As the HSW Business Partner, you’ll be the go-to expert for all HSW matters within your portfolio. You’ll work closely with business leaders and stakeholders, to support, uplift capability and ensure our practices align with legislative requirements and industry best practice, while proactively fostering a safety-first culture. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

 

  • Provide expert advice and support on HSW programs and initiatives
  • Perform day-to-day HSW activities, reporting, and systems support
  • Conduct site visits, participate in HSW meetings, facilitate risk assessments, learning and coaching sessions
  • Lead and inspire continuous improvement in safe work practices and support delivery of divisional HSW improvement plans
  • Collaborate with industry bodies and internal stakeholders to monitor legislative changes, update the HSW management system and stay ahead of best practice
  • Perform routine site inspections and audits
  • Assist and support the identification of hazards, assessment of risk and recommend and evaluate effective control measures
  • Support and lead incident investigations, both psychosocial and physical, root cause analysis and identification and implementation of effective corrective actions
  • Collaborate and support injury management and return to work processes
  • Lead and deliver projects arising from the HSW Strategic Plan
  • Occasional business travel to Noble Park and regional VIC locations

 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • Minimum diploma or equivalent qualification in OHS
  • 5+ years’ experience in a health and safety related role
  • Expertise and/or experience in psychosocial safety, highly desirable
  • Knowledge of best practice, legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and Australian standards
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication and skills
  • Effective collaboration with senior leaders and managing key stakeholder relationships
  • Confident facilitator and role model for safety behaviours
  • Analytical, highly organised and time management abilities
  • Proactive, responsive, and committed to continuous improvement and change management
  • Ability to manage priorities, with a practical and pragmatic approach to decision making and problem solving
  • Valid drivers licence
