About the Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned finance systems leader who thrives in ambiguity and excels at building capabilities from the ground up. With the introduction of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, we need a resilient, adaptable leader to establish the foundations, governance and team that will define our finance technology future.
As Head of Finance Systems and Data Analytics, you’ll be Oracle Fusion System Owner, you will be the gate-keeper of our new platform, standing up frameworks, building your team to lead the solution design, governance, and operational health of our core finance technology.
You will also be accountable for establishing and operating the Finance Data Governance Framework, ensuring every financial record is accurate, trusted, and transformed into timely, actionable insights.
Reporting to the GM Finance Transformation, this is a critical, hands-on leadership role that requires deep technical expertise in finance systems and a proven ability to lead finance data strategy in a complex, multi-system enterprise. You will partner closely with Finance, Technology, and the PMO to deliver scalable, future-ready systems. What makes this role exciting:
- Build from the ground up: Establish the new Finance Systems team that will manage and support a suite of finance systems in the CFO division.
- Shape the future: You’re not inheriting legacy constraints; you’re designing the blueprint for finance technology at one of Australia’s most trusted organisations
- Develop your team; Recruit, coach and build a high performing team with specialist skills in Oracle Fusion and data analytics
- Be the gatekeeper: Own system integrity, controls and compliance while balancing the agility needed to support evolving business needs.
- Navigate complexity: Work across Finance, Technology, business units and external partners, pivoting as priorities shift and requirements emerge.
Your main focus areas include:
Finance System Ownership & Configuration Leadership
- Act as the Oracle Fusion System Owner, accountable for the operational system health, configuration governance, and quarterly updates.
- Exercise functional design authority for all Oracle Fusion configurations, extensions, security, and integration design.
- Own and govern the single Finance integration catalogue, data flows, and error-handling standards.
- Direct all build, functional testing, regression testing, and release management activities for projects and quarterly updates.
System Support & Administration
- Own the Finance Systems Health & Performance Dashboard and associated SLAs (availability, incident response, error rates).
- Act as the Finance escalation owner for P1/P2 incidents, coordinating rapid resolution with Technology and AMS partners.
- Govern segregation-of-duties, access controls, data privacy, and lead functional contribution to disaster recovery and cyber assurance testing.
- Manage licensing consumption and optimisation of all finance systems.
Finance Data Governance & Master Data Stewardship
- Establish, chair, and evolve the Finance Data Governance Council, policies, and operating rhythm, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
- Define and maintain the single source of truth for finance data definitions, data glossary, ownership, and data lineage.
- Own and govern the creation, maintenance, and decommissioning of all finance master data (Chart of Accounts, cost centres, suppliers, etc.).
- Direct continuous data quality monitoring, root-cause analysis, and cleansing programs.
Finance Reporting & Analytics Strategy
- Own the finance reporting and analytics roadmap (including Fusion Data Intelligence, OTBI, FRS, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and future data platforms).
- Deliver and govern self-service analytics capabilities for Finance and approved business consumers.
- Partner with the Enterprise Data, Strategy & Analytics team to ensure finance data assets are catalogued, discoverable, and reusable.
Stakeholder and People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering innovation and professional growth.
- Act as the key liaison for finance system vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
- Collaborate effectively with the Finance Leadership Team, Technology, Legal, and Business Units to embed data governance and align systems with strategic goals.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years' extensive experience managing finance systems and integrations in a complex, multi-system environment.
- Proven track record of delivering at least two full-cycle ERP implementations or major cloud migrations as functional lead.
- Deep functional understanding of core financial processes (GL, AP, AR, budgeting, reporting, procurement).
- Deep understanding of financial data models, ERP structures, and reporting processes.
- Proven ability to design and implement data governance frameworks and controls.
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
Highly Desirable
- Experience in managing Cloud ERP and EPM, ideally Oracle Fusion.
- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification (MBA, CPA/CA, CDMP, DAMA).
- Experience with modern integration patterns (API frameworks) and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).
