About the Opportunity

 

As General Manager of Program Management, you will report to the CIO and will lead a high-performing team and oversee the strategic alignment, portfolio planning, governance, and delivery of RACV’s enterprise project portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with accountability for a $100M+ portfolio of 30+ concurrent projects across all lines of business.   

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Enterprise Planning

  • Develop and maintain a 24-month view of strategic programs and facilitate the conversations around ensuring that this reflects what really matters.
  • Lead and improve Enterprise Quarterly Planning, optimising prioritisation, sequencing, and delivery of initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning forums to resolve prioritisation, resourcing, and dependency issues.
  • Maintain a prioritised pipeline of project work across core business platforms to inform forward capability and capacity planning.

 

Program & Project Management

  • Develop and continuously improve RACV’s Project Management Framework.
  • Drive enterprise project portfolio practices and standards to improve productivity, investment decision-making, and business outcomes.
  • Oversee governance, roadmap maintenance, reporting frameworks, resource planning, and capability development.
  • Manage interdependencies across projects, ensuring risks, issues, and KPIs are effectively communicated and monitored.
  • Provide coaching and training to enhance RACV’s project and program management capability.
  • Deliver strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making and maximise value realisation.

 

Leadership

  • Inform and guide the conversation with Executive and General Manager community around enterprise planning and delivery, surfacing challenges and choices as necessary.  
  • Lead a team of approximately 80 employees and contractors across Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management, and Governance functions.
  • Champion contemporary ways and methods of working, reviewing and refreshing our working practices as necessary across the organisation, the Technology division and within Program Management.   
  • Drive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and talent development, including succession planning and critical role pipeline development.
  • Promote health, safety, and wellbeing in line with RACV policies.

 

 

Who we are looking for and what you will bring

 

You are an experienced executive leader with a strong strategic mindset and proven ability to deliver complex programs in large-scale environments. You bring:

 

  • Exceptional influencing, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • 10+ years’ experience in project and program management across diverse project types and businesses.
  • Expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Graduate degree in Business or related discipline.
  • Advanced financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting for large portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hybrid portfolios and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Advanced understanding of information security and risk management in program delivery.
