We're looking for an experienced and strategic Experience Design Lead – Mobile App to shape the future vision, roadmap and experience of one of RACV's most important digital products. 

 

 

About the Opportunity 

 

As the voice of the app user experience, you'll lead end-to-end experience design, from discovery and research through to delivery and continuous optimisation. Drawing on customer insights, behavioural data, market trends and member feedback, you'll identify new opportunities, influence strategic decisions and create experiences that deliver meaningful value for members and measurable outcomes for the business. 

 

Working closely with senior leaders, Product, Technology, Marketing, Analytics and Design teams, you'll bring together customer needs, commercial objectives and technical feasibility to create seamless, engaging and accessible mobile experiences. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence the direction of the RACV App, lead a talented team, and help define how RACV delivers exceptional digital experiences into the future.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Own and deliver the end-to-end user experience design for the RACV App, from discovery through to launch and ongoing optimisation.
  • Lead UX research across the mobile app lifecycle, using qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover user needs, behaviours and pain points.
  • Translate research, analytics and member insights into clear design direction, recommendations and prioritised opportunities.
  • Shape the mobile app experience roadmap, balancing customer desirability, commercial value and technical feasibility.
  • Lead the creation of user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity design outcomes ready for development.
  • Use app usage data, market analysis and member feedback to identify opportunities that support app OKRs, member engagement and business growth.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through strong storytelling, evidence-based recommendations and a clear view of member, business and technology value.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, brand, marketing, analytics, content and design teams to deliver consistent, scalable and accessible experiences.
  • Review and guide mobile app designs to ensure they meet RACV’s design standards, accessibility expectations and best-practice digital experience principles.
  • Work with the Design System team to identify gaps, validate emerging patterns and support consistency across RACV’s digital ecosystem.
  • Lead, coach and support a team of talented UX professionals, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
  • Champion continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and design excellence across the Membership & Digital team and broader RACV.

 

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Strong experience leading end-to-end UX design for digital products, with exposure to mobile app experiences across iOS and Android.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating customer-centred design, measurable outcomes and clear design thinking.
  • Solid leadership experience in a previous role is essential
  • Experience using research, usability testing, behavioural insights and analytics to inform and improve digital experiences.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect design decisions to member value, engagement, business outcomes and strategic priorities.
  • Confidence working in agile product environments and partnering closely with engineering teams to deliver feasible, high-quality experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and storytelling skills, with the ability to bring complex ideas to life for different audiences.
  • A solid understanding of mobile UX patterns, accessibility principles and emerging digital experience trends.
  • Experience working with design systems, component libraries and scalable design practices.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Figma, prototyping tools, Jira, Confluence and Miro.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with a genuine interest in developing others and creating an inclusive team environment.
