This is an opportunity to lead the evolution of RACV's data governance capabilities, driving the practices and culture that enable trusted data, better decision-making and meaningful business outcomes. Working across Data Strategy & Analytics, AI Strategy, Architecture, Legal & Compliance and Technology, you'll influence enterprise-wide initiatives while helping build a strong data-driven culture. 

 

 

What You'll Be Doing

 

As the Data Governance Lead, you'll be responsible for developing and maturing RACV's data governance practices and ensuring data is AI ready across structured data assets.

 

You will

 

  • Drive the expansion of RACV's data dictionary, lineage models and metadata capabilities.
  • Lead Data Stewards and partner with business stakeholders to improve data understanding and accountability.
  • Support the development of a future-ready Enterprise Data Engine (EDW).
  • Oversee data classification, archiving, disposal and reference data management practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement of governance tools, including platforms such as Collibra.
  • Lead the ongoing development of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies and processes.
  • Champion data quality, compliance and the effective management of private and sensitive data.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional governance forums, including the Data Governance Working Group.
  • Enable the effective use of external and third-party data.
  • Provide coaching, training and guidance to teams across RACV on best-practice data management.

 

 

What You'll Bring

 

We're looking for a governance leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.

 

You'll bring

 

  • Extensive experience in data governance, data management or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management and compliance obligations.
  • Experience developing and implementing governance processes, policies and standards.
  • A deep understanding of data ecosystems, data warehousing principles and data lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with commercial acumen.
  • Experience working in project-based environments, including system implementations and agile delivery models.
  • The ability to influence, coach and drive organisational change in support of better data practices.
